Portals

Every week in this six-lab series, a door opens somewhere unexpected. Somewhere that runs on rules no one has seen before, a place with peculiar inhabitants, a world from the distant past or the unknown future. Every time, the same question leads the exploration: what's on the other side? That part we leave for the kids. We provide the portal, they get to build the world beyond it: who or what lives there, the way it works, the rules that hold it together. It's theirs to imagine and make.

We keep our classes small on purpose: ten kids max, one afternoon a week. It's a warm, focused little room, sometimes chaotic (though we prefer the word "energetic"), where every child gets real attention, and everyone gets to experience the aha moment of "I did it!"
